Perioperative Team of the Year Award
A bursary of up to £2,000 sponsored by Swann Morton in memory of Siobhan Rankin
Sponsored by Swann Morton, this award is for theatre teams of up to 15 individuals working in the perioperative environment.
The winning team will be awarded an educational bursary of up to £2,000 to be used within a designated 12 month period. The bursary must be spent on education, resources, courses or programmes which enable team members to meet personal development goals.
Criteria for Application
- At least one of the applicants must be an AfPP paying member, with up to 15 team members to be listed.
- Submissions must fall into at least one of the following three categories;
- a) Innovation: Introduction or a new way of using a new medical device, leading to a change in working practice resulting in enhanced patient care
- b )Best Practice: New ways of sharing best practice to illustrate a more efficient perioperative working environment
- c) Safety: Introduction of equipment, procedure or practice which improves patient and/or theatre team protection.
- Submissions must be the original work of the team applying.
- The ‘exercise’ to which the application relates to must have been undertaken within the last 12 months.
- A report (electronic format only) must be submitted by the winning team following the completion of the project, for possible inclusion in either the AfPP Newsletter or the Journal of Perioperative Practice (JPP).
- Bursary must be claimed within 12 months.
Terms & Conditions
- Bursary is not transferable and must be used for the purpose stated on the application form.
- Bursary will not be paid out without original receipts or invoices being submitted.
- AfPP must be informed if the bursary awarded is no longer required.
- Minimum of 12 months AfPP Membership required.
